PVC membrane for Rains restaurants, commercial kitchens, and facilities with rooftop grease exhaust or chemical exposure. PVC resists oils and animal fats that destroy TPO and EPDM membranes. We install IB Roof Systems and Duro-Last PVC with factory-fabricated accessories for watertight penetration details. Built-up roofing (BUR) uses 3 or 4 plies of fiberglass felt in hot asphalt with a gravel or cap sheet surface. Oldest proven flat roof system, with 30+ year service life in South Carolina. We still install BUR when the application calls for it.

Half-round copper gutters with round downspouts are the premium install for historic and high-end homes in Rains. We solder every joint on-site with 50/50 tin-lead solder. Copper weathers to a green patina in South Carolina's climate over 5-7 years. For modern aluminum installs, we use Spectra Metals .027 gauge seamless stock in 25+ color options with Raytec hidden hangers rated to 25 lbs per linear foot of combined debris and ice load.

Annual inspections catch small problems early. A cracked pipe boot is a $150 repair. A year of water leaking through that crack causes $3,000+ in ceiling, insulation, and drywall damage. We recommend an inspection every 2-3 years for newer roofs, annually for roofs over 15 years.
